About Julia

Waystation Consulting was born from a long-time belief: every journey includes valleys and climbs, and every story includes a life fracture so impactful that we lose our footing and need a place to rest and regroup in order to keep going.

For thousands of years travelers crossed deserts, oceans, climbed mountains and walked long paths, forests and open plains. They knew something we may have forgotten today: we cannot make our long journey without stopping to rest and reset.

Along the journeys there were WAYSTATIONS - places of hospitality and welcome, where travelers could stop,  stay, be still, share meals, tend to their injuries, replenish supplies, exchange stories, read and study their maps and prepare for the next part of the journey.

We travel through rough terrains on our life paths. We encounter death of loved ones. Illness. Job loss. Burnout. Displacement. Retirement. Trauma, Divorce. Empty Nests. Recovery from substance use. A crisis of identity. On these stretches of roads our old maps are no longer of any use to us.

But the world today tells us to quickly regroup, optimize, become a better us and keep marching on and producing - as if nothing happened.

We offer an invitation to pause, rest, reclaim your identity and your dignity, rediscover hope and then -

Keep Going.

I appreciated the chance to really think about who I was and what fulfilled me in my early career. We were able to craft a plan to make small next steps towards work that excites me again!

As an empty-nester, the session was so helpful to start thinking about what this new era could mean. It's not all loss and sadness.

I worked with Julia to sit through a devastating loss. Sometimes it helps to have someone in your corner who just feels peaceful and like home. When nothing feels normal, this is nice to rely on.
